Quick and easy signup

EasyHost is easy to use for your members, creating an account is a easy 1 or 2 step process (depending if you enabled email validation or not). The software comes with a user friendly file manager allowing the user to upload, create, edit (using a built in text editor), rename, move, delete files and also create directories under their website.

File Manager

EasyHost's powerful File Manager allows you to upload files, create directories and files, rename, move, copy or delete, browse directories, view and edit files. With it's speed and ease of use, it allows users to easily update your site without FTP access.

WYSIWYG Editor

EasyHost comes with a powerful browser-based website management application with file management and WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editing capabilities. Our web-based HTML editor makes it easy for anyone with Internet Explorer 6 or higher to create great-looking, professional Web pages.

Login

When you log in to an EasyHost user account, the site remembers your login information in a 'cookie', which is stored by your browser. This means that you do not need to log in when you:

  • access a new page within your account
  • re-access EasyHost, if you have closed the site but not the browser.
  • Cookies expire when you exit the browser. This means that EasyHost will normally forget who you are when you exit the browser. However, if you checked the Save Password checkbox during a previous login, cookies will not expire when you exit, and EasyHost remembers your identity whenever you access the site. EasyHost remembers your identity only if you are using the same browser from the same computer.

    If you log off from EasyHost, your browser deletes the cookie and you must log in again the next time you access the site.

    Account Removal

    Enter your password to automatically remove your account. Your account and all files will be removed.

    Note: This feature can be removed if the administrator does not wish for users to have this option.

    Category Placement

    EasyHost has targeted category placement and a detailed description of what your users sites have to offer, making your users more visible to people with an interest in the category.

    Simple Setup

    Setup with either version is so simple you'll have it running in no time! EasyHost attempts to find the proper directories for you. Unless you need to make changes out of the norm, setup will be a snap.

    Password Protected Control Panel

    The User and Admin section of EasyHost both come with a password protected admin and configuration section.

    Templates

    EasyHost has a template feature that the administrators create to get your users up and running with ease. The template feature is open for many ways of giving users default pages to provide them with getting started on their website, or for businesses that want to give a more strict approach. Templates usually include page layout html file and basic graphic files for users to enter information to get their site or business running and updated with ease.

    Email Users

    The administrator has the ability to send off an email to an individual user, users that belong to a single category or all users of EasyHost. To email users, your mail server must have the proper path. A Subject and Message text are both required to send an email.

    Header/Footer Includes

    EasyHost has an option for administrators to include a header and footer on users pages. This can be beneficial if you have categories of paying and non-paying users, with the paying users not having headers and footers while the non-paying users would. Advertisements can be placed in them to balance out the cost of traffic and bring more income to your domain.

    With changes to the header, footer or category sections, you must go to the Maintenance section and click on the Update Site HTML button to complete the updates. This must be done as it makes changes for all of EasyHost.

    Packages

    Packages allow you to give different options to different users, just like packages at pay web hosting services, you must specify what package is used by default (when a user creates an account) and then you may change what package a user has assigned. This is useful if you have users who want to pay for a no banners package, for extra space or even if you just want to give friends added features.

    Categories

    You may display different headers/footers on user created sites depending on their category and also limit their space and if headers and footers are displayed or not, depending on their package.

    Banned Extensions

    If a URL ends in an extension that is in this list, EasyHost will block it. You can also reserve a username or ban an email address. Email addresses can be full or partial. You are a fool if you ban the file extension .html, or .jpg etc.

    Maintenance

    Change your Admin password, update headers and footers on user created pages and remove unused/inactive accounts here. Also upload a list of usernames and/or email addresses to remove a large amount of users.

    Notices

    Select user actions by email or logs that you wish to be notified of.

    Statistics

    The statistics package displays user information of EasyHost. New and active users within a 24 hour period are shown as well as total users of EasyHost. Disabled users also include unvalidated accounts.This allows you to keep track of how many users are signing up daily and how active your members are in general.
